Rough / Bobbly Skin
Rough bobbly skin is a common skin condition that affects many people. It commonly involves the top of the arms, thighs and buttocks. Sometimes the face is also involved.
This dermatological term is called Keratosis Pilaris and is caused by plugging of the glands with dead skin cells. A variety of treatments can help keep this skin issue under control.
Medical grade skin care
In our clinic we use highly active ingredients such as glycolic acid, alpha-hydroxy acids and retinoids/retinols that break down the plugging of the glands.
Hydrafacial
Hydrafacial is a great treatment that combines micro-dermabrasion, glycolic acid peel, extraction and LED light. All these steps aid deep exfoliation, extraction of plugging of the glands and delivering glycolic acid removes and softens the plug. We recommend maintenance after that.
Chemical peel
For resistant areas we can perform certain chemical peels however in patients with skin of colour we would need to prepare the skin with skin creams to avoid adverse skin colour changes.
